The Colombo Branch of the Past Pupils’ Association of Mahamaya Girls’ College, Kandy celebrated its Silver Jubilee (25 years) in March 2009. We have moved far beyond the confines we aimed at. The Colombo Branch has successfully provided an arena for the past pupils of Mahamaya residing in and around Colombo to meet, interact and support each other. Annual trips and family get-togethers provide an overdose of fun and laughter.

Fund raisers saw teamwork with dedication – Religious activities provide the all important spiritual backdrop – Assistance to the school has flowed willingly with sincerity of purpose in diversified fields. We have at all times been mindful of problems faced by our Island nation and dedicated our services to national disasters, be it man made or natural, such as the Tsunami. Though initially started as an Association for past students living in the vicinity of Colombo, it is open to each and every past pupil of Mahamaya Girls’ College, Kandy wherever they may be. We have developed strong bonds with the mother union of the Mahamaya OGA, the Mahamaya Girls’ College Alumnae Association of North America (MGCAANA) – and the UK Branch.

Over the years we have forged ahead as a strong and committed Association benefitting the school, society and our members.
